Azerbaijani chess player boycotts European Chess Championship

For the first time in the world chess history chess players were defaulted, as they ended the match in the 40th move in a draw without informing the arbiter.

Azerbaijani Shakhriyar Mamedyarov and Spanish Alonso Rosell as well as Eltaj Safarli and Tal Baron were defaulted as they agreed to end the match in a draw in the 9th round without letting the arbiter know about it.
