YEREVAN. – Swimmer Vahan Mkhitaryan will be Team Armenia’s flagbearer at the 2016 Summer Olympics that will take place in Rio de Janeiro, Brazil.
President of the National Olympic Committee of Armenia, Gagik Tsarukyan, on Thursday informed the aforesaid at a talk with the Olympic delegation and journalists of the country.
Mkhitaryan qualified had for the Rio Olympics thanks to a wild card granted by the international federation.
The opening ceremony of the 2016 Summer Olympics is on August 5.
The wrestling teams, however, will arrive in the Olympic capital city soon after.
