Chess news on Armenian players

YEREVAN. – Armenian Grandmaster (GM) Hovhannes Gabuzyan has scored 6.5 points out of 8 and is the sole leader at the chess open being held in Varna, Bulgaria. Before the last round Gabuzyan is one point ahead his nearest rivals. As a result, the Armenian GM can win the tournament with even a draw in his next match. 

Separately, FIDE Master (FM) Roman Oganisian (Russia) has scored 2 points after two rounds and is leading, together with a group of other participants, at the chess open that is held in Barcelona, Spain. GMs Karen Grigoryan and Karen Movsziszian (Armenia) have one point, each, so far, Armchess reported.
