YEREVAN. – Thirteen-year-old Armenian FIDE Master Haik Martirosyan became European Champion in the U14 group of the European Youth Blitz Championship of chess that was held in Budva, Montenegro, Armchess reports.
The Armenian player suffered no defeat and scored a total of 7.5 points out of possible 9 points.
Separately, GM Hovhannes Gabuzyan became a bronze medalist in the U18 group while GM Karen Grigoryan took fourth place in the same tournament.
Also, Mane Hovhannisyan came in fourth in the Girls’ U10 group.
The European Youth Rapid Championship will be held in Budva on Thursday.
