Vice-champion of the Second European Games, bronze medalist of the 2016 European Wrestling Championships Karapet Chalyan will represent Armenia in the 77 kg category at the 2019 International Greco-Roman Wrestling Tournament.

A while ago, vice-champion of the London Olympic Games, world and European champion Arsen Julfalakyan (77 kg category) and Karapet Chalyan (77 kg category) participated in a test competition for the international Greco-Roman wrestling tournament at Stayki Olympic Sports Complex in Belarus.

At the end of the match, the referee gave Karapet Chalyan a warning for being passive, but the match ended with Chalyan’s victory. Olympic champion Artur Aleksanyan was a witness to Karapet Chalyan’s victory and posted a live video of the wrestling match on his official Instagram.

This was the fourth wrestling match between Arsen Julfalakyan and Karapet Chalyan. Karapet had won the previous three matches as well. In 2018, he celebrated his victories at the Vladislav Petlyansky Commemorative Championship (3-1), the final of the Armenian Wrestling Championship (5-3) and the Kiev International Wrestling Tournament (2-0).
