Aleksandr Tarkhanov to coach FC Pyunik

Russia’s Aleksandr Tarkhanov will be the chief coach of Yerevan’s FC Pyunik following the resignation of Andrei Talalayev, writes Sport24.

Tarkhanov, 64, has coached BKMA, Krilya Sovetov, Terek, Kuban, Khimki and Ural, which made it to the final of the play-offs for the 2017 Russia Cup under his leadership.

Tarkhanov has also coached Lithuania’s Vetra and Bulgaria’s Slavia. Recently, he was an advisor to the president of Ural.

Andrei Talalayev had been the chief coach of FC Pyunik since June 2018.

The 46-year-old coach helped FC Pyunik make it to the 3rd stage of qualification in the 2018-19 European League. Andrei Talalayev was also recognized as Armenia’s best coach in 2018.
