Italian squad ex-boss heads Chievo

Chievo have officially appointed former Italy national squad Giampiero Ventura as their new coach, Football Italia reported.

A 70-year-old specialist signed a 2-year contract with the Italian club.

Ventura will replace Lorenzo D'Anna, who has been recently dismissed.

During the Serie A current tournament, Chievo ranked last with one point.

Giampiero Ventura led the Italian national team from 2016 to 2017, but was dismissed because he failed to lead the team to the 2018 World Cup. He also worked in Sampdoria, Udinese, Napoli and Torino.
