The CIES Football Observatory has posted its list of best players of the top five European football leagues (England, Spain, Germany, Italy, and France) for this season.
This table ranks footballers having played at least 1,800 big-5 league minutes over the season (1,440 for Germany) according to their performance level. Accordingly, FC Barcelona’s Argentina forward Lionel Messi heads this list, whereas Real Madrid’s Portugal forward Cristiano Ronaldo is 16th on this table. Paris Saint-Germain’s Brazil forward Neymar, however, is not on this list because he played solely 1,797 minutes this season due to injury.
