Spanish police suspected Barcelona star Lionel Messi of defrauding of income when organizing charity football matches.
According to L’Equipe, law enforcement collected information on the charity football matches in 2012 and 2013 organized by Messi’s fund. Police suspected that the money received was not transferred fully to the fund. The fund received 300 thousand Euros. The police believed that the rest of the money could have been transferred to offshore accounts. The case was not initiated due to insufficient evidence.
As Football Leaks reported earlier, Lionel Messi makes in excess of 100 million Euros in a single season.
