FIDE: Levon Aronian moves up to second position

The World Chess Federation (FIDE) has published the FIDE rating list for December. Armenian chess leader Levon Aronian’s rating has risen to 2805. Levon Aronian moved up to the second position in FIDE Rating List. Magnus Carlsen continues to leаd the list. (2837)

The top ten included also Shakhriyar Mamedyarov -2,799 (Azerbaijan), Fabiano Caruana – 2799 (America), Maxime Vachier-Lagrave- 2789 (France), Wesley So- 2,788 (America), Vladimir Kramnik- 2787 (Russia), Viswanathan Anand -2782 (India), Hikaru Nakamura- 2781 (America), Ding Liren- 2777 (China).

There were two more representatives of Armenia among top 100 grandmasters: Gabriel Sargissian (2672) - 72nd, Vladimir Akopian (2667) - 78th.
