Christoph Daum: I wouldn’t say we will play attacking football during match against Armenia

By David Yeghiazaryan

The Head Coach of the Romanian squad Christoph Daum shared his expectations from the upcoming match against the Armenian squad during a press-conference held in Yerevan’s Republican Stadium Friday.

“Each of the squads can consider itself the favorite of tomorrow’s match. Our task is to score a goal and win. It doesn’t matter who the favorite is. We once again made sure of this during the Euro 2016. We watched Denmark vs. Armenia match: The Armenian squad could save the game if it had capitalized on its goal chance. The squad was playing well from physical and technical viewpoints. I wouldn’t say that tomorrow we will play an attacking football. We should maintain balance, since the Armenian squad counterattacks dangerously. Henrikh Mkhitaryan is a wonderful footballer but he won’t play tomorrow,” the German specialist said.

The World Cup 2018 qualifier Armenia vs. Romania will take place on October 8 in Yerevan, the capital city of Armenia at 8:00pm local time.
