Chess Grandmaster (GM) Levon Aronian could not defend his title at the 2016 Sinquefield Cup super tournament, which wrapped up Sunday in St. Louis, USA, and he placed third.
Aronian, who plays first board for the three-time World Chess Olympiad champions and the former World Team Chess champions Armenia, finished the tournament with 5 points.
GM Wesley So (USA) won the event with 5.5 points.
