Grandmaster (GM) Levon Aronian will face GM Maxime Vachier-Lagrave (France) in Thursday’s Round 8 at the Sinquefield Cup chess tournament which is held in Saint Louis, USA. After seven rounds, both Vachier-Lagrave and Aronian—who is second in the World Chess Federation (FIDE) rankings and who plays first board for the three-time World Chess Olympiad champions and the former World Team Chess champions Armenia—have 2.5 points, apiece.
GM Fabiano Caruana (Italy), on the other hand, continues to lead the tournament with a perfect record. All matches will get underway at 11pm Armenia time.
