The Belgian and Algerian national football squads have booked their places—from Group H—in the 1/8 finals of the 2014 FIFA World Cup in Brazil. In their third and final group-stage match, Belgium defeated—with ten men—South Korea by a score of 1-0 while Algeria and Russia played a 1-1 draw.
As a result, the Belgians finished the group phase atop Group H with a perfect record and they will face USA—the runners-up in Group G—in the playoffs. The Algerians, who finished second in Group H with 4 points, will enter the pitch against Germany—the winners in Group G—in the 1/8 finals.
Russia and South Korea, on the other hand, have bid farewell to the World Cup with 2 points and one point, respectively.
