Melkumyan wins Czech Rep. tournament

YEREVAN. – Armenian Grandmaster (GM) Hrant Melkumyan played excellently at the chess open in Teplice, Czech Republic. As a result, he scored 8 points out of 9 and took the first prize in the tournament.

Separately, GM Hovhannes Gabuzyan has scored 4 points after four rounds, and he is the sole leader at the chess open being held in Varna, Bulgaria. This tournament will end on Friday.

In addition, GMs Karen Grigoryan and Arman Pashikian have scored 6 points, each, after seven rounds, and they lead the Karen Asrian Memorial chess tournament in Jermuk, Armenia. The last games will be played on Tuesday, Armchess reported.
