France national football squad and FC Real Madrid (Spain) striker Karim Benzema may leave the Spanish club if it does not offer him a twice higher salary, AS reported.
At present, the 26-year-old player receives an annual salary of €4.5 million.
Real are holding talks with Benzema’s agent and they hope to keep him in the club.
The Spanish giants already have turned down two offers hoping that the striker will reduce his financial requirements.
Karim Benzema’s contract with Real Madrid runs until 2015.
