Armenian chess masters compete in Bulgaria and Russia

YEREVAN. – Armenian Grandmaster (GM) Hovhannes Gabuzyan has scored 3.5 points after four rounds at the chess open in Albena, Bulgaria.

Gabuzyan is only half a point behind the current leaders—GM Baris Esen (Turkey), and International Master (IM) Vitaliy Bernadskiy (Ukraine).

GM Vladimir Akopian has 3 points while GM Tigran L. Petrosian and FIDE Master (FM) Tigran S. Petrosyan have 2.5 points, each, so far.

Separately, GM Zaven Andriasian has scored 4 points after five rounds at the Nezhmetdinov Memorial in Kazan, Russia.

Andriasian is solely half a point behind the current leaders—GMs Dmitry Kokarev, and Sergei Yudin (Russia).
IM Nikita Matinian has 3 points so far, Armchess reported.
