European Wrestling Championship: Aslanyan ends campaign

Karen Aslanyan (Armenia) lost his consolation match at the 2014 European Greco-Roman Wrestling Championship which is held in Vantaa, Finland.

In the 59-kilogram competition, Aslanyan was ahead by 6-2 against Jani Haapamäki (Finland), but the referees gave him three warnings, and therefore ended the bout early.

In the round of 8, the Junior World Wrestling Champion was defeated by Alexander Konstantinov (Bulgaria), who had advanced to the final. Owing to this, however, Aslanyan had received the right to compete in the consolation match.

As reported earlier, Artur Aleksanyan (Armenia) will face Cenk Ildem (Turkey) for the gold medal in the 98-kilogram competition.
