Candidates Tournament 2014: Aronian draws level with Topalov

Saturday’s Round 3 in the Candidates Tournament 2014, which is held in Khanty-Mansiysk, Russia, is in progress.  

Grandmaster (GM) Levon Aronian—who plays first board for the three-time World Chess Olympiad champions and the previous World Team Chess champions, Armenia, and who is second in the World Chess Federation (FIDE) rankings—faced GM Veselin Topalov (Bulgaria), and they played a draw.  
Both GMs now have tallied 1.5 points, each.

The current leader is former World Chess Champion, GM Viswanathan Anand (India) with 2.5 points.
In Round 1, Levon Aronian lost to Anand, whereas in the second round, he defeated GM Shakhriyar Mamedyarov (Azerbaijan).

The GM who wins this tournament will become the official World Chess Champion candidate, and compete against reining World Chess Champion, GM Magnus Carlsen (Norway) who tops the FIDE rankings, for the title of World Chess Champion.
