Chess news involving Armenian players

YEREVAN. – Grandmaster (GM) Karen Grigoryan (Armenia) scored 5.5 points out of 7 points, and he captured fourth place, from among 92 participants, at the chess open that was held in Navalmoral, Spain. Grigoryan was only half a point behind the tournament winner, GM Namig Guliyev (Azerbaijan).

Armenian GM Krikor-Sevag Mekhitarian (Brazil), on the other hand, tallied 7 points out of 9 points, and he took tenth place, from among 425 participants, at the open that was held in Bogota, Colombia. Mekhitarian was solely half a point behind the event winner, GM Evgeny Romanov (Russia), Armchess reports.
