Warsaw: Armenia vs. Russia

Seventh-round matches will be played Friday in the men’s competition at the European Team Chess Championship which is held in the Polish capital city Warsaw. 

In Round 7, three-time World Chess Olympiad champions and the World Team Chess champions Armenia—comprising Grandmasters Levon Aronian, Sergei Movsesian, Vladimir Akopian, Gabriel Sargissian, and Tigran Petrosian—will face Russia.

After Round 6, Armenia and Russia have 9 points, apiece, France are the leaders, with 11 points, and they are followed by Azerbaijan, with 10 points.

In the women’s Round 7 competition, Armenia will play against host nation Poland Team 2.

After six rounds, Armenia’s women have 9 points, whereas Poland Team 2 have 8 points, and the current leaders are Ukraine, with 11 points.
