Armenian chess masters compete in Brazil and Indonesia

YEREVAN. – Armenian Grandmaster (GM) Krikor-Sevag Mekhitarian (Brazil) was undefeated as he tallied 6 points out of possible 7 pints, and took the first prize from among 87 participants in the chess tournament that was held in Mogi das Cruzes, Brazil, Armchess reports.

Another Armenian chess player from Brazil, FIDE Master Armen Proudian, captured ninth place with 5 points.  

Separately, Armenian GM Avetik Grigoryan garnered 7 points out of possible 11 points, and came in nineteenth from among 108 participants in the open that was held in Jakarta, Indonesia.

The winner of this competition was GM Aleksey Dreev (Russia), with 8.5 points.
