Chess news involving Armenian players

YEREVAN. – Armenian Grandmaster (GM) Karen Movsziszian (Spain) tallied 7.5 points, out of possible 11 points, and took ninth place from among 96 participants at the chess open that was held in Vallfogona, Spain.

The winner of this tournament was IM Joan Mellado (Spain), with 9 points.

IM Poghos Garabetian (Paul Garbett), an Armenian chess player from New Zealand, garnered 4 points out of 5 points and took the second prize from among 25 participants at the chess open that was held in Auckland, New Zealand.

The winner of this event was IM Wang Pu Chen (New Zealand), with 5 points, Armchess reports.
