Chess Olympiad: Armenia's teams won in the final round

The Armenian national chess team defeated the Croatian team in the final—11th—round of the 46th World Chess Olympiad.

Grandmasters Shant Sargsyan and Manuel Petrosyan secured victories.

The games played by Grandmasters Robert Hovhannisyan and Gabriel Sargsyan ended in draws.

The Armenian team scored 17 match points out of a possible 22 (7 wins, 3 draws, 1 loss) and finished in 6th place.

In previous rounds, the Armenian team defeated Barbados (4–0), Scotland (3.5–0.5), Sweden (2.5–1.5), and Argentina (2.5–1.5), drew with China (2–2), defeated Iran (2.5–1.5), drew with the USA (2–2) and the Netherlands (2–2), defeated Azerbaijan (2.5–1.5), lost to Uzbekistan (0.5–3.5).

The Uzbekistan national team won the championship title, defeating Ukraine 2.5–1.5 in the final round and securing 20 team points.

The champions were Nodirbek Abdusattorov, Javokhir Sindarov, Nodirbek Yakubboev, Mukhiddin Madaminov, and Shamsiddin Vokhidov.

Uzbekistan had also won the Olympiad title in 2022.

The Armenian women's national team defeated the Uzbekistan team with a score of 3–1.

International Master Lilit Mkrtchyan and Woman Grandmaster Mariam Mkrtchyan secured victories.

The games played by Grandmaster Elina Danielian and Woman International Master Susanna Gaboyan ended in draws.

The Armenian women's national team scored 17 team points out of a possible 22 (8 wins, 1 draw, 2 losses) and finished in 6th place.
