Chess Olympiad: Opponents of the Armenian teams in the final round

The World Chess Olympiad in Samarkand, Uzbekistan, concludes on September 27. In the final round, the Armenian national team will face Croatia.

Both teams have 15 points and are tied for 6th–13th place.

In previous rounds, the Armenian team defeated Barbados (4–0), Scotland (3.5–0.5), Sweden (2.5–1.5), and Argentina (2.5–1.5), drew with China (2–2), defeated Iran (2.5–1.5), drew with the USA (2–2) and the Netherlands (2–2), defeated Azerbaijan (2.5–1.5), lost to Uzbekistan (0.5–3.5).

Croatia defeated Cape Verde (4–0) and Malaysia (4–0), drew with Moldova (2–2), lost to Lithuania (1–3) and Colombia (1–3), and defeated Thailand (3–1), the United Arab Emirates (3–1), Finland (4–0), Sweden (2.5–1.5), and Brazil (3.5–0.5).

The Armenian women's national team will face Uzbekistan in the final round.

Both teams have 15 points and share 6th through 13th place.

In previous rounds, the Armenian female chess players defeated Hong Kong (3.5–0.5), Singapore (3–1), and Croatia (4–0), lost to Kazakhstan (1–3), defeated Peru (3–1), Latvia (3–1), Azerbaijan (2.5–1.5) and the USA (2.5–1.5), lost to China (1–3), drew with Greece (2–2).

The Uzbekistan team defeated Trinidad and Tobago (4–0), Ecuador (4–0), Indonesia (3–1), and Argentina (3–1); drew with the USA (2–2); lost to Georgia (0.5–3.5), defeated Slovenia (3.5–0.5) and the Netherlands (3–1), lost to India (1–3), defeated Peru (3.5–0.5).
