In the first round, the Armenian representative faced world No. 144 Julia Riera of Argentina and won in straight sets, 6-2, 6-4. The match lasted 1 hour and 28 minutes.
In the second round, Elina Avanesyan will face the winner of the match between Armenia's Alina Charaeva and China's You Xiaodi.
