Otamendi: It's a historic disgrace

Nicolas Otamendi, defender of the Argentine national football team, commented on the scandal that happened in the first round of the football competition in the Paris Olympics.

Argentina had lost 1-2 to Morocco. After the goal scored by the Argentines in the 16th minute of added time, riots had started in the stands, and Moroccan fans had invaded the pitch.

In the match that restarted two hours later, the referee had watched—with the help of VAR—the replay of the second goal of the Argentines and canceled it.

"It's a historic disgrace. Nothing like this has ever happened before. Morocco didn't want to play, and neither did we. We waited for an hour and forty minutes, but no one told us anything," Otamendi said, All About Argentina reports.

Soufiane Rahim had scored a brace for Morocco, and Giuliano Simeone had netted the only goal for Argentina.
