Head coach of the Austrian national team Ralf Rangnick spoke about the upcoming confrontation with Turkey. The teams will meet in the 1/8 finals of Euro 2024.
"The opponent possesses the ball well and brings a lot of passion into the fight. We have to be ready for both these factors. We have to channel our energy on the pitch. Against Turkey you will have to play with a hot heart and a cool head.
We watched their match against Czech Republic (2:1) when we knew they could be our potential opponent. The Czech Republic played very well, but the suspension changed the game. I'm not sure the result would have been the same if there had been no elimination," Rangnick is quoted as saying by the UEFA website.
The Austria-Turkey match will take place on July 2 in Leipzig and will start at 23:00 Yerevan time.
