Gullit: Ronaldo's behavior is unacceptable, I see them as crocodile tears

Former Dutch national team player and European champion Ruud Gullit criticized 39-year-old Portugal and Saudi Arabia's "Al Nasr" striker Cristiano Ronaldo for his poor performance against Slovenia in the 1/8 finals of Euro 2024. Ronaldo's penalty was deflected by goalkeeper Jan Oblak in the 105th minute.

"There are players in the Portuguese national team who can take penalty kicks better than Ronaldo, but he, as usual, wanted to be the center of attention. He missed all the penalties, missed the penalty and then started crying. Ronaldo's behavior is unacceptable. I see them as crocodile tears," Gullit was quoted by FanzWord as saying.

Portugal beat Slovenia 3-0 on penalties. Portuguese goalkeeper Diogo Costa made three saves. Ronaldo, Bruno Fernandes and Bernardo Silva scored the game-winning strikes.

Portugal's opponent in the quarterfinals will be world vice-champion France.
