Portugal defender and French champions "PSG" Nuno Mendes, 22, has expressed his hope that Euro 2024 will end with a title for Cristiano Ronaldo, captain of Portugal's national team and player for Saudi Arabia's "Al Nassr". The 39-year-old striker confirmed that the European Championship is his last participation.
"The fact that this is Ronaldo's last competition at the European Championships may push us to show a more energetic game. We will do everything we can to make sure Ronaldo walks away with the title," Mendes was quoted as saying by A Bola.
Ronaldo is the only man in history to have featured in European Championship finals 6 times since 2004.
Portugal will face world vice-champion France in the quarterfinals of Euro 2024 on July 5.
