Portugal head coach Roberto Martinez commented on the 0:2 defeat to Georgia in the match of the third round of the group stage of Euro 2024.
"The quick goal affected our game at the beginning. It took some time to find our game. We were going to start the game intensively, but the opponent changed our plans.
We were not clear in the last passes and near the opponent's goal. Their goalkeeper played amazingly. They deserved to win.
It was the final for Georgia, and we just made a step to the 1/8 finals. This also influenced the result," Martinez is quoted by the UEFA website.
On June 30, Georgia will face Spain in the 1/8 finals. Portugal will play Slovenia on July 1.
