Beijing 2022. Scandal for an alleged doping case

The awarding ceremony of the figure skating team champion of the 24th Beijing Winter Olympics Russia, silver and bronze medalists the USA and Japan did not take place due to the doping test (passed before the Games) of 15-year-old Russian Kamila Valieva, Inside the Games reports.

Under the rules of the World Anti-Doping Code, Valieva is a "Protected Person". That means as "an athlete who at the time of the anti-doping rule violation: has not reached the age of sixteen" Valieva cannot officially be identified if she is guilty of an anti-doping violation.

The anti-doping agency is currently investigating the possible involvement of the athlete's coaching staff and close associates in the use of a banned stimulant or drug.

An official announcement is expected tomorrow.
