Serbia national football team to donate state bonus received to charity

The Serbian national football squad will donate to charity the bonus they have received from the state for qualifying for the 2022 FIFA World Cup, Goal.com reports.

After their 2-1 win against Portugal in their away match in the last round of the group stage in the European qualifiers and booking their spot at the 2022 World Cup, Serbian President Aleksandar Vucic announced that they will pay a €1-million bonus to their national team.

The money has already been transferred to the bank account of the Football Association of Serbia.

The national squad, however, unanimously decided to allocate this amount to Serbian children in need of urgent medical treatment.
