Djokovic's next opponent will be the winner of the match between world No. 188 Alejandro Moro Cañas of Spain and world No. 277 Jacob Fearnley of Great Britain.
Alexander Zverev, the fourth ranked player in the world, also advanced to the second round, representing Germany.
