Champions League: Match results of the day

The second round in the group stage of the UEFA Champions League ended Wednesday night, as the matches in groups E, F, G, and H were played.

In Group E, Bayern Munich took their second win by beating Dynamo Kyiv 5-0 at home. Bayern top the current group standings, with 6 points. Barcelona suffered their second defeat in this group. They were hosted by Benfica which won 3-0. The Lisbon team are second with 4 points, whereas Dynamo have just 1 point and are the penultimate.

In Group F, Manchester United hosted Villarreal and won 2-1. The winning goal of the home team was scored by their Portuguese star forward Cristiano Ronaldo in the fifth minute of the added time. Earlier, Atalanta had hosted Young Boys and won 1-0. The current leaders of Group F are Atalanta, with 4 points, Young Boys and Man United have 3 points each, whereas Villarreal are last, with just 1 point.

In Group G, RB Salzburg defeated Lille (1 point) 2-1 and are the current first in this group, with 4 points. Wolfsburg and Sevilla played a 1-1 draw and have 2 points each.

In Group H, Juventus played host to the current Champions League titleholders, Chelsea, and won 1-0. Juve are the current leaders in this group, with 6 points, and Chelsea are second, with 3 points. Earlier in this group, Zenit Saint Petersburg had hosted Malmo and won 4-0. Zenit are third, with 3 points, whereas Malmo suffered their second defeat.
