Messi on corruption during Copa America

Argentina star Lionel Messi explained his absence from the awarding ceremony of Copa America.

Messi missed the awarding ceremony after his team defeated Chile in the third-place playoffs, Marca reported.

“We don't have to form part of the corruption there has been against us during this Copa America,” the forward told reporters afterwards.

As for the final between Brazil and Peru, Messi said he hopes the referees and VAR “don't influence it and that they let Peru compete, but I see that as difficult”.
