Maria Zakharova, official representative of the Russian Ministry of Foreign Affairs (MFA), announced that the US embassy in Moscow has not granted US visas to the Russian national freestyle wrestling team athletes, according to the Russian MFA website.
Zakharova described this action by the Americans as discrimination against the Russian national team, and noted that international tournaments should not be held in the US.
In the US, the Russian national team was to compete in the 2018 Freestyle Wrestling World Cup to be held from April 5 to 9, in Iowa City, Iowa.
