Hertha and Morocco midfielder Aymen Barkok, 25, was the victim of an attack in Berlin, according to the official website of the German club.
Unknown people beat the footballer in a bar. He received fractures of facial bones and underwent surgery.
Aymen Barkok has been playing for Hertha on loan since January.
