“Dear Basketball” has won the Oscar for Animated Short Film at Sunday’s 90th Academy Awards (Oscars) in Los Angeles. The film tells the life story and basketball career of Kobe Bryant, the legendary player of the Los Angeles Lakers. Bryant himself is the executive producer of “Dear Basketball.” The 5.22-minute animated film is based on a poem Kobe Bryant wrote in 2015 announcing his impending retirement from basketball. Bryant himself had read the text of “Dear Basketball.”
