Mkhitaryan expresses support to Borussia Dortmund

Armenian national football squad captain and Manchester United (England) midfielder Henrikh Mkhitaryan expressed support to his former club Borussia Dortmund (Germany), whose team bus was hit by explosive devices on Tuesday.

“I was deeply shocked by the explosions last night in Dortmund, a city that has a very special place in my heart,” Mkhitaryan wrote on his Facebook page. “I want to send my support to Borussia Dortmund, the fans and I also wish a speedy recovery to Marc Bartra.”

Three explosive devices went off by the side of the bus carrying the German football team on Tuesday night, injuring one player.

The incident occurred at about 7:15pm local time in Dortmund, approximately 10 kilometers from the club’s stadium, where they were due to play a Champions League quarterfinal against Monaco.
Defender Marc Bartra was injured by shards of glass and was taken to hospital. But he already has been checked out of hospital.

Police in the city said an officer who was escorting the team bus was also injured in the blasts.
UEFA said the Champions League quarterfinal first leg against Monaco had been postponed until Wednesday at 6:45pm local time.
