Migran Arutyunyan congratulates Armenians on New Year

Speaking to NEWS.am Sport, Armenia’s Rio Olympics silver medalist, Greco-Roman wrestler Migran Arutyunyan, thanked those following his sports career, and congratulated everyone on the New Year and Armenian Christmas season.

“I thank my nation, all Armenians around the world for supporting, inspiring, following my sports career, asking about the recovery of my hand after surgery, waiting on the wrestling mat, and believing in my strength,” said Arutyunyan. “I will return to the mat stronger, and present new triumphant moments to Armenians and Armenia.

“Dear Armenians, my adorable Armenia, I heartily congratulate on the New Year and Christmas. May 2017 be a year of successes and victories. I thank everyone for supporting me. I bow before you all.”
As a result of blatant biased refereeing at the 2016 Summer Olympics that were held in Rio de Janeiro, Brazil, Migran Arutyunyan was robbed of an Olympic gold medal while Armenia—from its 15th Olympic champion.
