Increasing violence in sport

A significant increase in violence is recorded in sport, states French National Observatory of Delinquency and Criminal Responses (ONDRP).

According to the report, football is one of the most aggressive sports in France. About 3,000 offenses were recorded by the Police during 2011-2012 French League matches. This figure is 74% higher than the one registered 5 years ago. In addition, sometimes football players behave badly.

About 3,000 incidents occurred during the matches related to physical violence and verbal abuse, lematin.ch reports.
