YEREVAN. – We need this kind of performances for making figure skating popular in Armenia, the national team’s 17-year-old figure skater Anastasia Galustyan told NEWS.am Sport.
Galustyan performed at the Kings on Ice Presents Fashion on Ice figure skating show by renowned Russian figure skater Evgeni Plushenko, in Armenia’s capital city of Yerevan.
“I don’t have any more international tournaments this year,” said the young athlete. “The year was rich in various competitions. I participated for the first time in the adults’ Grand Prix that was held in Moscow, and I placed ninth.
“Next year we will participate in the European Championship, and I shall train very hard for it.
“Now, I train in Moscow; we will not yet train in Yerevan. [But] in all probability, we will hold a [training] camp in the summer, at the Irina Rodnina [Figure Skating Centre] sports school in Yerevan.”
