Armenia national football squad captain and Manchester United (England) midfielder Henrikh Mkhitaryan, Armenian chess Grandmaster Levon Aronian, and Real Salt Lake (USA) football club forward Yura Movsisyan have reflected on the one gold and three silver medals which Armenia has won so far at the 2016 Summer Olympics that are held in Rio de Janeiro, Brazil.
“Olympic gold for Armenia. Really proud of our sportsmen in Rio2016,” Mkhitaryan commented on his Facebook account, and posted a respective photo.
“Hurray! Our first Olympic gold in RIo! Congrats to all of us and especially to great Artur Aleksanyan’s team and family! ArmenianSpirit!,” Aronian wrote on his Facebook page.
“fellow countryman makin us proud, Olympic Gold! GoArmenia,” Movsisyan commented on his Facebook account.
As reported earlier, Armenia is 36th in the current team medal standings at Rio 2016, with one gold and 3 silver medals.
Greco-Roman wrestler Artur Aleksanyan was crowned Olympic champion while fellow Greco-Roman wrestler Migran Arutyunyan as well as weightlifters Simon Martirosyan and Gor Minasyan have become Olympic silver medalists in Rio de Janeiro.
