Greco-Roman wrestler Artur Aleksanyan won gold medal becoming Armenia’s first gold after a 20-year break.
24-year-old Aleksanyan defeated his opponent Yasmany Daniel Lugo Cabrera 3-0 in the finals of the 98 kilogram category.
This is Armenia’s third medal in Rio Olympics. Greco-Roman wrestler Migran Arutyunyan won silver medal. A day earlier 19-year-old weightlifter Simon Martirosyan was the second in the category of 105 kilograms.
