Chess World Cup Baku: Armenia’s Aronian bids farewell to tournament

Armenian chess Grandmaster (GM) Levon Aronian has ended his campaign at the Chess World Cup 2015, which is held in the Azerbaijani capital city of Baku.

Aronian’s 1/32-final against GM Alexander Areshchenko (Ukraine) had gone to a tiebreak where, however, Armenia’s top GM was defeated.

Levon Aronian was Armenia’s last representative who was still in the competition.
The Chess World Cup 2015, which is a single-elimination tournament, will end on October 5.
