YEREVAN. – Armenia won five medals at the 2014 Sambo World Championship among Youth and Juniors, which were held in Seoul, South Korea.
Accordingly Grigor Mkhitaryan (52 kg) was declared world champion, Seyran Sahakyan (90 kg) won a silver medal, and Diana Hovhannisyan (48 kg), Grigor Sahakyan (87 kg), and Lendrush Zatikyan (48 kg) were awarded with bronze medals.
The gold and silver medalists are military servicemen representing the Army Central Sports Club.
The Armenian Sambo Federation and Defense Ministry representatives and the fans were on hand, at Zvartnots International Airport of capital city of Yerevan, to welcome these athletes, the federation informed.
