Armenian chess masters compete in France and Brazil

YEREVAN. – Armenian Grandmaster (GM) Sergey Kasparov (Belarus) tallied 6 points, out of possible 9 points, and captured eleventh place, from among 171 participants, at the chess open that was held in Sautron, France.

GMs Boris Avrukh and Michael Roiz (Israel) shared first and second places, with 7 points each. In the end, Avrukh won the tournament on a tiebreak. Separately, Armenian FIDE Master (FM) Armen Proudian garnered 4.5 points, out of possible 7 points, and took tenth place, from among 54 participants, in the semifinal of the Brazilian Championship that was held in Rio de Janeiro.The winner of this tournament was GM Rafael Leitao, with 6.5 points, Armchess reports.
