Ronaldo breaks legendary Eusébio’s record

Portuguese international and Spain’s FC Real Madrid striker Cristiano Ronaldo scored a hat-trick in his country’s 4-2 win over Northern Ireland in the 2014 World Cup qualifier match on Friday.

As a result, the 28-year-old player broke the record that was set by legendary Eusébio, who was Portugal’s second top scorer ever, with 41 goals.

Now, the Real Madrid striker has a total of 43 goals for the Portuguese national squad.

The top record belongs to Pedro Pauleta, who had netted 47 goals for Portugal.

To note, this was Cristiano Ronaldo’s first hat-trick in the Portuguese national team.
