Liverpool was disappointed to miss out Mkhitaryan

Liverpool manager Brendan Rodgers said there had been many players linked to Liverpool but the club had one top target – Henrikh Mkhitaryan.

“We had spoken to Shakhtar, we had got permission to speak to him but unfortunately I didn't get the chance to sit down in front of him. It was already in place with Dortmund so that was disappointing,” he told the Liverpool Echo.

He admitted that missing out Mkhitaryan was the only disappointment for the club, football365.com reported.
